Internet fraudsters have opened an account in the name of Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko, on facebook, one of his aides confirmed in Sokoto.
The aide, Malam Abubakar Dangusau, special assistant on press affairs to the governor, advised members of the public to beware of such fraudsters.
He noted that such act was meant to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
Dangusau urged that any message claiming to have come from such facebook account should be disregarded.
“They are aimed at short-changing unsuspecting members of the public. Relevant security agencies have been informed of this fraudulent facebook account operators, and the security agencies are leaving no stone unturned to apprehend the suspected fraudsters,” he said
