RIOT IN BRAZIL AGAINST WORLD CUP 2014



Brazilian police clash with indigenous groups protesting against World Cup 2014.
While the FIFA world cup kicks off this week, the people of Brazil have been protesting against the enormous amount of government spending put towards preparing to host the games. The Brazilian government has spent 11 billion on the World cup. Many of the protesters believe this money should be going to the people of Brazil for causes such as healthcare or education. The clash between the protesters and the military police has been tumultuous and violent. 
Amnesty international gave the Brazilian military police a yellow card for excessive voilence towards protesters in Sao Paulo. The police issued an official statement saying that the rioters were blocking the road to the gates of the main stadium.
