SWITZERLAND AVOIDS TOTAL HUMILIATION: WORLD CUP 2014

France took on Switzerland today leading with five goals to nil before the Swiz could pull two goals late in the game, closing the match at a 2-5 score line in favor of the French.
Olivier Giroud opened the scoring with a delightful header assisted by Mathieu Valbuena in the 17th minute. Other goals followed Karim Benzema assisted Blaisse Matuidi in the 18th minute and Mathieu Valbuena assisted by Olivier Giroud found the back of the net in the 40th minute to close the first-half.
The second half started in the same spirit and one sided also as Benzema scored in the 67th minute assisted by Paul Pogba and also assisted a goal by Moussa Sissoko in the 73rd minute.
Just as all hope was lost for the Swiz, Blerim Dzemaili found the back of the net with a spectacular effort in the 81th minute, and then a beautiful goal by Granit Xhaka assisted by Gokhan Inler in the 87th minute.
